Sustainable South Bronx Horticulture Training Sessions:

Urban Environment can organize and deliver one-day short courses on a variety of topics.  For Sustainable South Bronx, we facilitate a class on common plant problems in urban landscapes.  Participants are part of their Bronx Environmental Stewardship Training (BEST) Academy, which provides participants with the education they need to perform successfully in green careers.

As of June 2010, Urban Environment has taught classes for three cohorts of the BEST Academy.

In these classes, participants learn science-based techniques that help them identify and address plant diseases and insect problems commonly found in urban landscapes.  A field session in a Bronx neighborhood ties their instruction to real-world situations.

BEST participants learn how to identify and address diesease and pest problems that affect urban plants.
